Naples Airport Introduces Automated Weather and Runway Broadcasts for Pilots
Naples Airport in Florida has adopted Frequentis smartATIS to deliver weather and airfield information to arriving and departing pilots. The system automatically generates audio broadcasts using weather data, while controllers enter operational details such as runway configurations and taxiway changes.

The airport announced the deployment in August. Automating the broadcast process is intended to make updates easier to issue as conditions change, while preserving the controller’s role in supplying local airfield information.

For NVOII’s business aviation crews flying into Naples, the change concerns a routine but essential part of arrival and departure preparation. Pilots should continue to use current ATIS information alongside clearances, notices and other required preflight sources.
