Learjet 60 Crashes Near West Palm Beach; FAA Confirms Nine Aboard
The Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed that a Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday, November 1. The aircraft was travelling from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, with nine people aboard. The FAA placed the accident at approximately 12:50 p.m. local time.

A Flightradar24 playback screenshot supplied to NVOII identifies the aircraft as N722BD and displays a sharp altitude reduction near the end of the recorded flight. At the selected playback point, it shows a barometric altitude of 8,750 feet and a vertical speed of approximately minus 31,000 feet per minute. These are displayed tracking values, rather than independently validated accident findings, and do not establish what caused the descent.

The FAA says the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation, supported by the agency. Its initial statement does not specify the condition of those aboard or any injuries on the ground. The circumstances behind the aircraft’s descent remain undetermined, and conclusions about mechanical failure, weather or crew actions would be premature.
