Klatt Works Targets Gulfstream, Bombardier Global and Falcon Jets With SAVED Cockpit Smoke Vision System
Klatt Works is expanding its SAVED augmented-reality emergency vision system into business aviation, targeting aircraft including Gulfstream, Bombardier Global, Dassault Falcon, Embraer Praetor and newer Citation platforms. The system is designed to allow pilots to maintain essential outside visibility and flight information if dense smoke obscures the cockpit.

SAVED fits within compatible pilot oxygen masks and displays imagery from an external camera together with essential flight data. Klatt Works currently holds FAA supplemental type certification covering the Gulfstream G550 as well as Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft, while a Gulfstream G650 flight test is planned and Bombardier integrations are being pursued. Gulfstream, Duncan Aviation, West Star and Altus Aerospace are among the company’s reseller network.

NVOII is following the technology because cockpit smoke represents a particularly difficult emergency: crews may still have a controllable aircraft while losing the visibility needed to fly it effectively. Moving enhanced-vision imagery directly into the oxygen mask could give business jet crews another layer of capability during a smoke event while allowing installations to be coordinated with scheduled maintenance.
