Ornge Digitizes AW139 and Pilatus PC-12 Maintenance With Ramco Paperless Engineering Platform
Canadian air ambulance operator Ornge has transitioned maintenance execution across its Leonardo AW139 helicopter and Pilatus PC-12 fleets to a paperless workflow using Ramco Systems technology. Digital task cards, electronic maintenance sign-offs and the Mechanic Anywhere mobile application are now being used across Ornge maintenance bases.

The system allows aircraft maintenance engineers to access documentation, perform tasks and record electronic sign-offs directly while working on an aircraft. Maintenance and quality teams gain near-real-time visibility into task completion and work status, while the electronic sign-off capability was designed around Transport Canada compliance requirements.

For a mission-critical air medical fleet, reducing maintenance delays can directly affect aircraft availability. NVOII sees Ornge’s implementation as a practical example of aviation digitalization moving beyond passenger-facing technology and into the engineering systems that determine whether an aircraft is ready to fly. Similar mobile workflows could increasingly become standard across business aviation and special-mission maintenance operations.
