ATI Jet Sues Over Learjet 60 PW305A Engine Support and Hourly Maintenance Program Dispute
ATI Jet has filed a lawsuit centered on engine-support issues affecting its Bombardier Learjet 60 fleet, alleging that commitments associated with an hourly service program for Pratt & Whitney Canada PW305A engines were not fulfilled. A key focus of the complaint is the availability of rental engines while operator powerplants undergo maintenance.

The dispute is operationally important because engine maintenance programs are designed to make major maintenance costs more predictable while helping operators preserve aircraft availability. For high-utilization charter fleets, extended engine downtime can directly affect scheduling, revenue and the number of aircraft available to customers. AIN identified the absence of rental engines as a central issue in ATI Jet’s complaint.

The case also highlights the wider importance of aftermarket support as aging business jets remain commercially active. Learjet production has ended, but numerous aircraft continue flying in charter and private operations, making dependable engine, component and maintenance support essential to keeping the fleet economically viable. The allegations remain claims in litigation and should not be treated as established findings.
