U.S. Treasury Rule Eases LLC Reporting Requirements for Business Aircraft Ownership Structures
A new U.S. Treasury rule has reduced some federal information-reporting requirements for limited liability companies, a development with potential implications for the LLC structures frequently used to hold business aircraft. AIN highlighted the regulatory change on August 28 as a business aviation issue connected to the Corporate Transparency Act.

Aircraft owners commonly establish LLCs for ownership, financing and liability purposes, making changes to federal beneficial-ownership reporting rules relevant well beyond traditional corporate administration. The revised framework relaxes portions of the previous reporting regime, reducing compliance obligations for affected entities. Aircraft owners should still evaluate their individual structures and applicable federal and state requirements rather than assuming aviation-related LLCs are automatically exempt. For business aviation management companies, attorneys, trustees and aircraft transaction specialists, the change adds another regulatory consideration when establishing or maintaining aircraft ownership structures.
