FlightSafety International has agreed to acquire Acron Technologies’ Commercial Training Solutions business, significantly expanding one of the world’s largest aviation training organizations with additional simulator manufacturing, training services and aviation academy capabilities.

The transaction includes Acron’s Training Systems, Training Services, Aviation Academy and Driver Training operations. Commercial Training Solutions has delivered more than 850 training devices during its history, with over 300 full-flight simulators currently operating worldwide.

Its facilities across the United States, United Kingdom and Thailand will add to FlightSafety’s existing international training network.

FlightSafety already operates one of the world’s largest fleets of advanced full-flight simulators and provides training to pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals from more than 170 countries. The acquisition could strengthen both its simulator manufacturing capabilities and global training footprint.

Acron, meanwhile, will concentrate on Aerospace Solutions and Defense & Rescue Technologies, including avionics, satellite connectivity and flight-data services.

The companies expect the transaction to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

For business aviation, where FlightSafety is a major provider of aircraft-specific pilot and maintenance training, further expansion of its simulation capabilities could have significant long-term implications for training capacity.
