Embraer Phenom 300EV Earns FAA, EASA and ANAC Certification With Garmin Emergency Autoland
Embraer’s new Phenom 300EV has secured simultaneous certification from the FAA, EASA and Brazil’s ANAC, clearing the upgraded light business jet for operation across three of the world’s most important aviation markets.

The milestone makes the Phenom 300EV the first light jet certified with Garmin Emergency Autoland, according to Embraer. The system can automatically take control and land the aircraft if the pilot becomes incapacitated.

Supporting the new electronically controlled functions are autobrake, rudder-by-wire and Embraer’s Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller, which the manufacturer says contributes to reduced pilot workload, improved handling and simplified maintenance.

The Phenom 300EV was introduced in July as the latest evolution of Embraer’s highly successful Phenom 300 series. The manufacturer describes the aircraft as the fastest and longest-range light jet, while the broader Phenom 300 family has been the world’s best-selling light jet for 14 consecutive years.

Triple certification removes a major regulatory hurdle for Embraer as it prepares the aircraft for customers in North America, Europe and Brazil.

More broadly, certification of Emergency Autoland aboard an established business jet platform represents another significant step toward increasingly automated safety systems becoming standard features in business aviation cockpits.
