SyberJet SJ30-2 Claims New Light Jet Transcontinental Speed Record With 4-Hour Jacksonville-to-San Diego Flight
SyberJet Aircraft says its SJ30-2 has established a new east-to-west transcontinental speed record for its light-jet aircraft class, completing a nonstop flight from Jacksonville, Florida, to San Diego, California, in approximately four hours and seven minutes.

Pilot Gordon “Gordy” Bryan flew the aircraft with SyberJet CEO Trevor Milton aboard, achieving an average speed of 505.3 mph during the coast-to-coast mission.

SyberJet is claiming the record in the FAI C-1.f powered-landplane category, covering aircraft within a specified weight class. The previous record cited by SyberJet was established by an Embraer Phenom 300 in 2013.

Importantly, the new record remains unofficial pending certification. SyberJet expects verification by the National Aeronautic Association and Fédération Aéronautique Internationale to take approximately 90 days.

The flight also gives SyberJet an opportunity to showcase the performance credentials of the SJ30 platform as it develops the next-generation SJ36 light business jet.

The record-setting SJ30-2 is scheduled to appear at NBAA-BACE 2026 in Las Vegas, where SyberJet also plans to present the new SJ36.

For the competitive light-jet market, the transcontinental mission puts range and speed firmly at the center of SyberJet’s return to the business aircraft spotlight.
