Textron Aviation Delivers 500th Cessna Citation CJ4 as Gen3 Program Advances

Textron Aviation has delivered the 500th Cessna Citation CJ4 series business jet, marking a major production milestone for one of the company’s most successful light-jet platforms as development of the next-generation CJ4 Gen3 continues.

Textron Aviation confirmed the milestone on August 17, 2026, saying the achievement reflects more than a decade of customer demand for the largest aircraft in the Citation CJ family.

The CJ4 has established a strong position in private aviation, serving owner-pilots, corporate flight departments, charter operators and aircraft management companies. Its combination of light-jet operating economics, cabin capability and performance has helped the platform build a substantial worldwide fleet.

Attention is now shifting toward the Citation CJ4 Gen3, which is expected to introduce Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics and other cockpit and cabin enhancements as Textron modernizes its light-jet portfolio.

The milestone comes as all three aircraft in Textron Aviation’s next-generation Citation light-jet family—the M2 Gen3, CJ3 Gen3 and CJ4 Gen3—move through flight-testing programs.
