Bombardier Credit Rating Upgraded by Moody’s as Business Jet Manufacturer Strengthens Financial Position
Bombardier has received another boost to its financial profile after Moody’s Ratings upgraded the business jet manufacturer’s credit rating from Ba3 to Ba2 while maintaining a positive outlook.

Bombardier confirmed the ratings action on August 17, 2026, describing the upgrade as recognition of progress made in strengthening its financial and business position.

The development is significant for an aircraft manufacturer that has spent recent years concentrating exclusively on business aviation while reducing debt and improving profitability.

Bombardier’s current aircraft portfolio includes the Challenger 3500, Challenger 650 and Global family, while the company is preparing its new Global 8000 ultra-long-range flagship for a larger role in the premium business jet market.

Improved credit ratings can potentially lower financing costs and broaden access to capital, giving manufacturers greater flexibility to invest in aircraft development, production capacity and aftermarket services.

Moody’s decision does not place Bombardier in investment-grade territory, but the positive outlook leaves open the possibility of further improvement if the company continues strengthening key financial metrics.

For Bombardier, the upgrade provides another indicator that its business-aviation-focused strategy is translating into stronger financial credibility alongside continued demand for its large-cabin aircraft.
