Brazilian aviation operator Omni Táxi Aéreo has selected Honeywell’s IntuVue RDR-7000 weather radar for its entire fleet of 33 Leonardo AW139 helicopters, expanding the deployment of advanced weather-detection technology across one of Latin America’s largest offshore helicopter operations.

The fleet-wide upgrade builds on Omni’s previous installation of the Honeywell RDR-7000 on selected AW139 helicopters. The system uses automated three-dimensional volumetric scanning to provide pilots with real-time weather information while reducing the need for manual radar adjustments.

For Omni’s offshore operations, enhanced weather awareness is particularly important. Helicopters supporting energy and offshore missions routinely operate over water, where rapidly changing weather conditions can affect routing, safety and operational reliability.

The decision also represents a significant deployment of Honeywell’s next-generation radar technology on the Leonardo AW139, one of the world’s most widely used intermediate twin-engine helicopters.
