Centennial Airport Hangar Rent Fight Could Reshape FBO Pricing Rules
DENVER – A Colorado rent dispute is testing whether private FBOs must follow FAA "fair and reasonable" rules at public airports.

The numbers: Denver jetCenter hiked Town Hangar rents 82% ($660 → $1,200/mo). Pilots sued and filed a Part 13 complaint with the FAA, now under investigation.

The crux: jetCenter claims it's exempt from federal grant assurances because it's a tenant, not the airport sponsor. AOPA warns a win for the FBO would green-light similar hikes nationwide, undercutting federal oversight.

What now: The FAA is investigating. The lawsuit moves through Colorado courts. No final ruling until 2027 at the earliest.

Bottom line: If jetCenter prevails, market rates win and FBOs gain pricing freedom. If pilots do, FAA oversight holds. Either way, a national precedent is coming.
