Solairus to Acquire Clay Lacy’s Charter and Aircraft Management Businesses
Solairus Aviation is set to acquire the aircraft management and charter businesses of Clay Lacy Aviation, bringing together two of the most established names in U.S. business aviation.

The transaction represents a significant consolidation within the aircraft management sector. Solairus already manages a fleet of more than 350 aircraft and provides management, charter and operational services to owners across the United States.

Clay Lacy, founded in 1968, has built a longstanding reputation across aircraft management, charter, maintenance and FBO services. Its history includes operating the first all-jet FBO and becoming the first jet charter company in the western United States.

The acquisition will expand Solairus’ managed aircraft and charter operations while giving the company greater scale in a highly competitive market. For aircraft owners, larger management fleets can provide advantages through purchasing power for fuel, insurance, training and maintenance alongside broader operational support.

Clay Lacy’s other aviation businesses are expected to remain separate from the transaction, allowing the company to continue focusing on areas outside the acquired charter and management operations.

The deal highlights continued consolidation across business aviation as operators look for greater scale, stronger national coverage and more efficient support for aircraft owners.
