Pre-Owned Business Jet Market Sees Declining Inventory as Supply Tightens
The global pre-owned business jet market continues to experience tightening supply, with inventory levels falling despite softer asking prices. According to the latest market data, used jet inventory declined 0.15% month over month and 19.21% year over year in June, highlighting the ongoing shortage of available aircraft across much of the sector. At the same time, average asking prices eased 2.28% month over month and 4.48% year over year, reflecting a gradual normalisation following the record highs seen in recent years.

Large-cabin aircraft have experienced the most significant inventory contraction, while buyers continue to compete for well-maintained, low-time aircraft with complete maintenance records. Although pricing has softened in some categories, demand remains healthy as operators, charter companies and private owners continue to seek quality aircraft that are available for immediate delivery.

With new aircraft delivery slots still extending several years for many manufacturers, the pre-owned market remains an attractive option for buyers looking to expand fleets or replace ageing aircraft without lengthy production lead times. Industry analysts expect inventory to remain relatively constrained unless new deliveries accelerate and more owners choose to bring aircraft to market.
