NBAA Warns Business Aviation to Prepare for AI Cybersecurity Risks
The National Business Aviation Association is encouraging business aviation organisations to strengthen their cybersecurity strategies as artificial intelligence becomes more widely adopted across the industry.

NBAA warns that while AI offers significant benefits in areas such as flight operations, maintenance, scheduling and data analysis, it also introduces new cybersecurity challenges. These include AI-generated phishing attacks, data manipulation, identity fraud and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats targeting aviation systems and sensitive operational information.

The association is urging operators, flight departments and aviation service providers to implement robust cybersecurity practices, regularly train employees and ensure AI technologies are deployed with appropriate safeguards. As digital transformation accelerates, protecting operational data and critical infrastructure is becoming just as important as embracing innovation.

The warning highlights the growing need for the business aviation industry to balance the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence with strong cybersecurity measures that protect safety, privacy and operational resilience.
