FAA Announces $18 Million Air Traffic Control Upgrade at Westchester County Airport
The Federal Aviation Administration is investing $18 million to modernise air traffic control infrastructure at Westchester County Airport (HPN), one of the busiest business aviation airports in the United States.

During a visit to the airport, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the project will replace ageing voice communication switches, radar systems, controller displays, paper flight strips and other critical air traffic control equipment.

The upgrades form part of a broader effort to modernise the U.S. National Airspace System, improving controller efficiency, operational reliability and safety at airports handling high volumes of corporate and private aircraft.

As a key gateway serving New York’s business aviation community, Westchester County Airport plays a vital role in supporting corporate travel and charter operations. The investment is expected to strengthen air traffic management capabilities while preparing the airport for future growth in aircraft movements.
