JetZero’s North Carolina Expansion Signals Major Shift in U.S. Aerospace Manufacturing
Aircraft startup JetZero is moving forward with its ambitious North Carolina expansion, a project that could become one of the most significant aerospace investments in recent U.S. history.

The company has broken ground on its manufacturing and headquarters campus in Greensboro at Piedmont Triad International Airport. The facility is expected to support production of JetZero’s innovative Z4 blended-wing aircraft and could eventually create up to 14,500 jobs, making it one of the largest job commitments in North Carolina history.

JetZero’s aircraft design aims to deliver substantially greater fuel efficiency than traditional tube-and-wing airliners, attracting interest from major airlines seeking lower operating costs and reduced emissions. The company has already secured backing from major industry players, including airline investors and potential customers.

The development further strengthens North Carolina’s position as a growing aerospace hub alongside manufacturers and aviation companies already operating in the region. Industry observers view the project as a significant step toward reshaping the future of commercial aircraft manufacturing in the United States.
