NetJets Seeks FAA Approval for Extended Global 7500 Crew Duty Operations
NetJets has petitioned the FAA for approval to extend crew duty periods on certain Bombardier Global 7500 operations, potentially allowing flights to operate closer to the aircraft’s maximum endurance capability.

According to the petition summary, the proposed operations could support flight durations of between 16 and 17 hours, enabling the Global 7500 to fully utilise its ultra long range performance on select international missions.

The request highlights a growing discussion within business aviation regarding crew fatigue management, operational flexibility and the capabilities of next-generation long-range aircraft. As aircraft range continues increasing, operators and regulators face the challenge of balancing operational efficiency with safety and crew wellbeing.

If approved, the petition could influence how future ultra long range business aviation operations are conducted, particularly on missions connecting distant global business centres without intermediate stops.
