Brazil’s Acelen Renewables Secures $1.5 Billion for Major SAF Production Facility
Acelen Renewables has secured $1.5 billion in funding to support development of a large scale sustainable aviation fuel production facility in Brazil.

The plant, which is expected to begin operations in 2029, is projected to produce approximately 264 million gallons of SAF annually using soybean oil and used cooking oil as feedstocks. The project represents one of the larger sustainable aviation fuel investments currently underway in Latin America.

Growing SAF production capacity is becoming increasingly important as the aviation industry faces rising pressure to reduce emissions and expand access to lower carbon fuel alternatives. Business aviation operators and OEMs are also placing greater emphasis on sustainability strategies as customer demand for emissions transparency continues increasing.

The investment highlights accelerating global momentum behind SAF infrastructure development as aviation works toward long term environmental targets and broader fuel diversification.
