Otto Aviation Advances Phantom 3500 Programme Following Preliminary Design Review Completion
Otto Aviation has completed the Preliminary Design Review for the Phantom 3500, marking a major milestone as the programme transitions from conceptual development into detailed engineering and production preparation.

The review finalised the aircraft’s aerodynamic configuration, supplier interfaces and core systems architecture, allowing the company to move toward hardware fabrication and assembly planning. Otto expects Flight Test Vehicle 1 to conduct its first flight in 2027.

The Phantom 3500 is centred around advanced laminar flow technology designed to reduce aerodynamic drag and significantly improve fuel efficiency compared with conventional business jets. The aircraft’s unconventional design reflects growing industry focus on sustainability and operational efficiency.

Attention now shifts toward certification planning, supplier execution and weight management as Otto progresses toward the next major development phase, the Critical Design Review.
