NBAA Expands Human Factors Training to Address Operational Risks in Business Aviation
The National Business Aviation Association is increasing focus on human factors training across business aviation, highlighting the growing impact of fatigue, workload management and decision making on operational safety.

Current NBAA safety initiatives identify issues such as “get there itis,” task saturation and high workload environments as recurring threats affecting flight crews and operational personnel. These human performance challenges are being recognised as critical contributors to risk, particularly during complex or time pressured operations.

Training programmes are increasingly emphasising situational awareness, adaptive decision making and workload management strategies to help crews better recognise and mitigate operational pressure before it escalates.

The shift reflects a broader industry understanding that safety is influenced not only by systems and procedures, but also by how people perform under stress, fatigue and operational complexity.
