Amazon Enters Inflight Connectivity Market With LEO Aviation Antenna to Challenge Starlink
Amazon is entering the inflight connectivity space with its new LEO Aviation Antenna, positioning itself as a direct competitor to Starlink in delivering high speed internet for aviation.

The system is designed to provide continuous connectivity from gate to gate, offering download speeds of up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 400 Mbps. Using low Earth orbit satellites, the antenna maintains connectivity by linking to satellites as the aircraft moves, ensuring consistent performance during flight.

Engineered with a low profile design to minimise drag and fuel impact, the antenna can be installed in a short timeframe and integrates with existing aircraft systems. Amazon is also building a global network of ground gateways to improve latency and reliability.

The move signals intensifying competition in inflight connectivity, as operators seek faster, more reliable solutions to meet growing passenger expectations.
